no need to be confined into one setting

a shitton of creative expression both from the player and management side of things

a lot of the ideas that wouldn't be able to sustain a main server are now suddenly open and could be wrangled in a way that is enjoyable

collaboration and ooc'ly working together to create better narratives and fun, exciting scenarios is actively encouraged and makes it so no-ones gonna be salty about something suddenly happening that is outside their control

IMO, cyberpunk has the most opportunity to be good with a community experienced in dystopian metropolis rp. I'd be down for it especially because I've got a fleshed out megacorp that I've used on multiple cyberpunk rps over a few years (and it'd work too. I've studied economics/marketing).

Even then, if that's not gonna go anywhere, I'd accept a conflict rp over post apoc. Partially because clockwork s2k combat is pretty fun and you can roll around in simfphys tanks. Post apoc rp generally ends up going in a way like: People amass in one town and make it a super defended hub that can't be stopped by outside factions, not much danger going on because there's plenty of food, medicine and weapons being scavenged so little incentive to be a raider/bandit which is generally a staple of fun post apocalypse media. Even less when admins make PK or looting rules that heavily discourage raiders, making them even rarer.

I'm pretty much given up after staffing FTRP twice for a third attempt on that theme however.

Pros
+We got appropriate maps for both themes
+Decent amount of content we can use from the workshop, you can use Stalker models for the second theme for cosmetic purposes.
Metro is linear enough for the map, if the playerbase is in a more confined space instead of a mass openworld It can provide more RP and interactivity from the community.

Cons
-So much freedom the newbies will struggle to get the hang of it alone without a circlejerk group or handholding admins
-Constant need of Staff attention for Fun provided by mini-events to maintain playerbase rate, take a look at what happened with FTRP's demise.

And also corporate security forces are fuckin' sexy.

And unregulated political thrillers are pretty neat too. Lot's of tense, in depth rp that doesn't usually require someone being murdered.

Someone needs to explain to me what cyberpunk is even about.

Watch bladerunner, PLAY DEUS-EX (especially), Read transmetropolitan. And you'll get a pretty good idea. Unregulated capitalism, environmentally ruined earth, high tech low life.


Except generally I dislike servers like gunsmoke was. The only good part about it was the flying cars, those were sexy and fun for police pursuit rp. Most of it never pandered to normal players and instead turned the entire city into a few cooperating mercenary groups.
