Is there a man at the top of those crimson towers?
is there a beating heart at the great center?
does it beat for us
does it beat to sustain its metal walls
or does it not bleed?
is there a man at the top of those towers?
does he sing for you and me?
is our purpose designed by that beating heart
thrumming, pulsating and twisting
does it twist and furl and reach and devour?
does it sustain us like a cicada to a great green field
when it swallows us whole
does it take us into its warm, welcome embrace
does our uncertainty betray us
is what lay waiting for us in that ever-twisting and sprawling light
a world anew
locusts swarm out of their confines
the tower twists and opens its maw
spelling exodus
as revelation spoke, of the before-world
doth the man sitting on his throne declare
"I am making all things new"
does fear have place in the house of our maker
