It really is crazy how good things like AI voices, pictures, and writing are getting. I was looking back on my phone at 2-ish years ago when deepfakes were just becoming popular. I wonder what we'll see in another five and how that may influence shit like HL2RP lmao

I know Hawke's server HL Synapse has been using some AI voices for Breen to announce lockdowns and shit. Looking back on some of the stuff from ~4 months ago, you can already see how much the technology has improved and sounds so much less like an AI generated voice.

Indeed, after hearing what ElevenLabs has been outputting, it definitely surpasses the overwhelming soundmixing frankstein work I had to do make Breen lines I generated months back sound even remotely legit.

Not sure if I can share a video example here, but you can find an example by watching the Civic Station dev showcase video that was published on YouTube a month or so ago. The comparison is next to none.
