Previous experience with Vortigaunt factions: I don't believe I've played as a Vortigaunt before but I have interacted with them in previous iterations.
Have you read the old Vortigaunt Guide?: Yes

Character Name: Zurr'Egh

What kind of character do you plan on portraying? How do their traits distinguish them from the rest of their species?: Zurr'Egh would be a very passionate and curious Vortigaunt who is fascinated by Earthling culture, history, and literature. Not a very combative Vortigaunt in relation to the fierce warriors that built the Nihilanth's army, Zurr'Egh would much rather prepare traps than face an enemy head on in combat.

How do you plan to play your vortigaunt with respect to the setting? That being very early on in the Combine's occupation of Earth: Zurr'Egh would be very cautious around anyone who appears to be a member of the Combine's forces. However, they are also eager to learn more about the civilized beings of this world. Because of this, they may be very keen on interacting with Earthlings if it can be done outside of the Combine's watchful eye.

How do you plan to interact with citizens and the other factions? Note that while Civil Protection is a new concept IC, you'd still be aware of their hostility towards your species: Unarmed factions such as Civilians will be treated as if they are creatures to be studied. However, armed factions such as rebels, CP, PA, and sometimes even Civil Services (assuming they have tools on their person) will be treated with caution as they would be seen as warriors to not be trifled with. Zurr'Egh would rather not start conflict with any humans, and may hope to come together due to their common enemy.

Brief Backstory: During the Nihilanth's rule, Zurr'Egh was just one of those mining Vortigaunts found on Xen, looking for crystals and other materials to bring to their leader. Because of their past as a forced laborer, seeing both Vortigaunts and Earthlings being forced into servitude wounds them. After being freed from the Nihilanth and swept across the universe by portal storms, Zurr'Egh would eventually find themself in an already abandoned sub-urban town. There, they would explore the ruins of the past as they examine ancient texts of human history (local library) and thus be totally convinced that things such as human space-ships, magic, deities, and all the other strange things humans write about were commonplace things to be seen before the Combine's reign on Earth. Not knowledgeable of Earthling aging processes, Zurr'Egh wishes to one day come in contact with acclaimed Earthling Chronicler William Shakespeare. But for now, they hear their siblings calling to them through the Vortessence, and they are not far away at all.

Do you intend to request a power specific to your character? If so, specify (Keep in mind you cannot use this in S2K situations): No
